John Voight was born on September 11th, 1971 in
Batavia, Illinois just outside of Chicago. John lived in Colorado
from 1979 to 1985 and moved to Phoenix, Arizona with his family
when he was in the 8th grade.
John first got into photography when in High
School, but thought of it more as a hobby then a career. His main
goal was to enter into the music industry promoting concerts and
managing bands. In 1993, John decided to move to Denver and attended
the Colorado Institute of Art. Unfortunately, that didn’t
pan out for John and he returned to Arizona. He was however, introduced
to video production and as years went by John saved his money
for a camera and an editing station. John has spent his working
career taking care of mentally challenged individuals at Beyond
One’s View in Phoenix, Arizona.
John eventually met back up with high school
friend Michael Giannantonio and began to film his interest in
video technologies by filming live magic and hypnosis performances.
John then decided to attend video production courses at Glendale
Community College where he and Michael produced the award winning
short film, The Devil Inside.
John decided to take it a step further and co-founded
Summitstar Films with Michael. Together the duo pooled their resources
and formed what is rapidly becoming one of the strongest and most
credible production companies in the state of Arizona. John has
produced numerous films, commercials and music videos. John is
the acting vice-president of Summitstar Films and looks forward
to a long and prosperous career in the motion picture industry.
